FAQs and Fees
What happens during the first session?
The first session is about gathering history and getting to know one another to determine if we are a good fit. If you would like for your child to begin play therapy, I meet with you first to learn more about your child and your family.
How often will we meet and how long do sessions last?
Sessions last 50 minutes, although 90-minute sessions are available too. There is no one size fits all answer to this question. However, it's safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make progress on what brings you to therapy. Some find short term therapy is helpful and others choose to work with me for longer periods of time to process additional issues. We can work together to collaborate a pace that is good for you.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I currently accept United Healthcare, Aetna and there subsidiary insurance companies. If you are out of network, I can provide a monthly receipt or “superbill” to be filed with your provider. You can send this to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you for partial or full cost of sessions. I accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) as well.
Please note that benefits are an agreement between you and your insurance company. I cannot guarantee any insurance coverage or reimbursement. If you have eligibility concerns or questions, you should contact your insurance provider directly.
What are your rates?

What if my child has been recommended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
Play is safe, regulating, empowering, engaging, and transformative.
Play will help your child go deeper into their thoughts and feelings because it helps them to feel seen and heard. It is an embodied process, which promotes deeper healing.
Play gives children a sense of control when often, they feel so out of control.
We don't "just play."
While we play, I teach your child all about their feelings, help them gain insight towards their thoughts and behaviors, and help them brainstorm ways to cope and express.
By joining them with empathy and trust, I create a space for connection, insight, and emotional healing. The playroom becomes a place where children of all ages can build confidence, resilience, and lifelong coping skills—one playful moment at a time.
