Melissa Brown, MS, LMFT, RPT
Melissa Brown is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist, Expressive Therapist, EMDR trained, and Gottman Method couples therapist practicing in Dallas, Texas. Melissa earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southern Methodist University and received additional training in couples therapy, polyvagal theory, Sand Tray and Sandplay therapy, expressive therapy, and play therapy.
Practicing from an Interpersonal Neurobiology and a Jungian-oriented lens, Melissa integrates attachment theory, mindfulness, systems therapy, expressive therapies, EMDR, and play therapy into her practice. Melissa's expertise lies in facilitating creative healing for those who are struggling with stress, discouragement, anxiety, people pleasing, grief, life transitions, and relational challenges. Melissa works with children, adults, and couples to create healing through relational, therapeutic connection.
Her professional experience includes both private practice and agency work, including the SMU Center for Family Counseling, the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, and private practice. Melissa is a member of the Association for Play Therapy (APT), World Association of Sand Therapy Professionals (WASTP), American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
